  • Beef bone broth. 1/2 cup beef bone broth. You can sub chicken bone broth but I personally think beef tastes better, chicken tends to be a saltier, stronger flavor. The brand matters, I only use Kettle and Fire bone broth.
  • Coconut milk. 1/3-1/2 cup full fat coconut milk. Sub with any milk of choice or coconut cream for a creamier hot chocolate.
  • Cacao powder. 2 tbsp of cacao powder. You can sub with cocoa powder.
  • Maple syrup. 1-2 tbsp of maple syrup depending on how sweet you want it. You can sub with honey.
  • Collagen. 1 scoop of collagen powder for added protein.
  • Peppermint oil. Dash of peppermint oil to give it a chocolate peppermint flavor. Feel free to omit.

How to Make

Step 1

Add all ingredients to a pot. Add bone broth, coconut milk, maple syrup, cacao powder, collagen and peppermint oil (if using) to a pot. Stir to combine then bring to a boil then reduce to simmer. Mix well. While it’s simmering for 1-2 minutes, whisk until fully combined and frothy.
