The past month we have been doing lots of traveling but instead of letting it get to me I’ve learned to prioritize things that will keep me feeling my best even when I’m out of my routine. By picking the most important things to me it always me to be flexible with the rest of it. Balance baby. Here are the things I focus on.

Moving my body

The best way for me to reprieve the stress of traveling is to get some type of movement in daily. This could be walking to get my morning coffee, trying a fun class in the new city, doing a 20 minute workout, even just waking up and doing a stretch sequence.

Eating my veggies

Even though I know my eating won’t be what it normally is at home, I do try to prioritize eating veggies during at least 1 meal a day (2 preferably). When I’m on vacation I don’t want to be hyper focused on eating healthy but I do want to make sure I’m still getting something nourishing because that is when I feel my best.

Stick to my morning routine

How you start your day impacts the whole day. That is why I always try to stick to some semblance of my morning routine. What that looks like for me is eating a balanced breakfast before having my collagen matcha, taking my supplements, and doing my journaling if possible.

Less time on social media

The less time I spend on social media and the more time I spend being present, the better I feel! Nothing spikes my anxiety like being glued to my phone. Plus when I’m on my phone I’m missing out on the amazing things happening on vacation and with my loved ones.

Being Flexible

I know I’m not going to be perfectly healthy or have the same routine I do at home while traveling, nor do I want to be! Outside of these non negotiables it’s important for me to be present and be willing to go with the flow. Because life is meant to be enjoyed.

I hope this is helpful and you’re able to come up with a list on non-negotiables that are important to you and make you feel your best while traveling!
